New Riverfront Pittsburgh Park

Written by Dick Roberts on May 23, 2013

The Aspinwall Riverfront Park has a mission: to create an independent, self-sustaining riverfront park that will be a community treasure and catalyst for trail expansion. Thanks to help from the Pittsburgh and immediate neighborhood community, that mission will soon become a reality.

Nearly a year after soliciting input from local residents as to what the park should include, plans for the project have been put into place with assistance from a group of nationally renowned planning, design, and engineering firms. . The design will allow for multiple outdoor activities, including picnics, a walking trail, sports, and a playground. There will also be a barge on the river, allowing visitors to rent kayaks and canoes for a day on the river. The eventual plan is to connect the park to an extension of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail.

As an advocate of this important effort, New Perspective Communications is thrilled to see the Aspinwall Riverfront Park take form by the end of this year.
